  Bethel meals

  have any of you had the experience of eating with the bethel family?.

  what were some of the idiosyncrasies of it?.

  as i mentioned before in another thread, it was brought up to me by another jw guest after the meal that it was "as if this was like a cult" when everyone would drop their utensils on que, stand up in unison and end the meal with a prayer.

  i declined appointment to become an elder in two different congregations.

  boy, was the elder body and co not happy about that!.

  have any of you done so for any appointments (elder, ms, special pioneer)?

  have any here had one in their congregation?.

  an elder is assigned to a congregation, usually by the co, in order to clean it out.

  especially in regards to the elder body who may be going off tangent by wts accordance .

  the branch office of jehovah's witnesses here in japan has released this "new" donation/contribution arrangment.

  of course, you'll know what the real reason is for this.

  Great Crowd of 1935 WILL enter "New World&...

  i know that the "policy" has now changed regarding the "generation of 1914".

  but what about the great crowd of 1935?

  the watchtower publication "survival into a new earth" (printed 1984) claims that some of those of the "great crowd" in 1935 will enter into the new world.

  NOT placing BOOKS? Spiritually weak!

  a few months back we had the usual elders/ms meeting with the circuit overseer during his visit.

  there was a point that the co had emphasized and it brought me sick to my stomach anyone didn't put the effort to make such placements, that these publishers were in need of spiritual help and that we (elders/ms) should help such ones to do so.

  talk about the pressure!

  Governing Body! Worshiped like Kings!

  i can't get over the fact the the gb of the wt society are treated like kings.

  aren't they supposed to be "one of the brethren"?

  the wt always accuses others of being guilty of "idol" worship when it comes to people of fame (i.e.

  Step down from privileges and what? FADE?

  i was raised and am currently a jw (detailed within my personal profile).

  however, yesterday i turned in my letter of stepping down as ministerial servant.

  yesterday i just joined the board and i'm glad to be here.
